Sonia and Jeff have eight children, ranging in age from three to 18, three of whom are adopted. Four kids, including McGarrity’s third oldest son and their three adopted daughters, have diagnosis of Trisomy 21
Sallie is a accomplished and respected board-certified behavioral health manager with combined clinical nursing practice and utilization management experience. Sallie has a comprehensive background stemming from previous roles in nursing, mental health care therapy, teaching, case management, and training. Sallie's daughter Penelope was born in 2021 and diagnosed with Trisomy 21. Sallie loves to ski and enjoy the Colorado outdoors with her children and is excited for her new passion to help her daughter and all those with a similar diagnosis to reach their full potential.
Robin Lynn Treptow, PhD, PhD, IFEC-MH. Dr. Robin Lynn Treptow is a Divine Mercy University Assistant Professor of Psychology teaching human flourishing, developmental psychology, and relationship skills to graduate students. She holds doctorates in Clinical Psychology (University of Nebraska-Lincoln: 1999) and in Infant and Early Childhood Development with Emphases in Infant Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities (Fielding Graduate University: 2019). She trained across various medical settings (e.g., inpatient psychiatry, University of Nebraska Medical Center, a family practice residency, addiction treatment). She is a Mayo Clinic certified Wellness Coach, Founding President of Wee Moccasin Way: Montana’s Association of Infant Mental Health, founder | co-lead of the Catholic Psychotherapy Association’s Infant Mental Health SIG, and Catholic Medical Association Catholic Social Teaching—Justice in Medicine Committee member. She is certified by the California Center on Infant-Family and Early Childhood as an Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist (IFEC-MH), and is seeking their Reflective Facilitator credential. She speaks to unique applications of relationship science within health narratives, infant mental health, and bias’s effects on wellbeing in national and international presentations. A recent break out speaker at the Catholic Medical Association’s 2021 Annual Education Conference, Dr. Treptow is passionate to expand horizons for use of infant mental health in new venues, including work with College Found T21 where aspiring adults are given the necessary skills for college success. Caren Powell is ASHA certified speech-language pathologist who has been practicing since 1992. Caren earned her BS at CU Boulder and an M.Ed. in Communication Science Disorders from the University of Georgia. Caren has provided therapy in a variety of settings including Denver Public Schools, Colorado Easter Seal, Saddle up!, home health, and private practice. Caren has enjoyed a variety of settings in which she has worked but truly loves the one-on-one time she can spend with clients and families. She has worked with a diversity of needs including childhood apraxia of speech, developmental delays, Trisomy 21, cerebral palsy, expressive/receptive language disorders, reading and curriculum adaptation, and has extensive experience in the area of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) for clients with complex communication needs. Caren serves on the National Inc board of boys team charity (btc) and in her free time loves spending times with her husband Drake and sons, Davis and Chalmers on their many outdoor adventures, skiing, golfing, and traveling.
